Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

(Mark Twain)

This was the spirit of the first visit that led our group of partners to the discovery of some of the best and most stimulating innovative realities of the Veneto region. On Tuesday, November 27th, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice hosted the Italian and Slovenian partners of the Nuvolak2 project who gathered to get to know and visit Fabrica and H-Farm, jewels of creativity, innovation, and growth of the Italian area of the program.
The day began at the Fabrica headquarters, a space created in 1994 by a vision of Luciano Benetton and Oliviero Toscani and created by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. This space is proposed as a place for inspiration and creativity, able to gather talents from all over the world every year, in order to experiment with innovative forms of communication. To achieve this goal, Fabrica creates an environment of contamination between different disciplines ranging from photography, to graphics, to design, to fashion and to digital disciplines driven by a learning-by-doing approach.

During the visit, between the offices of the center and the charming bookshop, we have been able to perceive the unconventional spirit of communication that they offer thanks to the combination of very different skills and fields. Fabrica defines itself as a generational salad, in which talents can discover their potential and express themselves together with people from different generations and cultures. The second stage of our visit day was H-Farm, the first venture incubator of digital startups in the world, born in an agricultural estate in Ca' Tron. Also, in this case, the place was so fascinating: it is very unusual and atypical but extremely fascinating and avant-garde. Accompanied by the manager Giorgio Gentilini, the guests were able to learn more about the Start-Up development ecosystem, in which H-Farm as an incubator invests in their business and brings the most innovative realities towards their affirmation and entry into the market.

The visit was in the name of digital thanks to an experience of virtual reality in which the guests were able to test the VR laboratory of H-Farm and for the presentation made by Digital Marketing manager for the strategies that the incubator adopts for its own businesses. This allowed us to transmit to our partners skills of particular interest for the cross-border project in the scenario of best practices in the Italian area of the project. The long and rich day transmitted many ideas and curiosities to the project partners, satisfying the heterogeneous interests of the guests and giving the possibility to know innovative and unexpected realities of the Italian territory contributing to the contamination and transmission of new skills and experiences in the marketing world, business and development of Start-Up.

The next field trip was organized by the  ABC Accelerator: stay tuned!
