The mapping of the tangible and intangible heritage of the native communities and the identification of the routes in the area continue despite the difficulties due to the pandemic.
The Comelico Dolomites CST Foundation, in order to increase the active involvement of the territories and to promote the spirit of PRIMIS project, has decided to involve young people both in Comelico and on the Plateau of Sette Comuni.
Two groups of boys and girls are working with enthusiasm and commitment to the identification of the Points of Interest (POI) and the paths. They are collecting the contents in Ladin and Zimbar to be narrated in the paths: the toponyms, the most beautiful and least known tales, the songs. The routes are tested, interviews, photographs and videos are made on the territory.
The collaboration with the young people of the Plateau of Sette Comuni started thanks to the close collaboration between the CST Foundation and the Zimbar Cultural Institute. The youths collaborating with the Institute have mapped 21 routes to discover 21 points of interest thanks to which they can discover the Zimbar stories, legends and culture.
In Comelico a spontaneous group of eight recent graduates with skills in languages, cultural heritage and tourism sciences is working, coordinated directly by the CST Foundation. Over 50 POIs have already been identified and the routes will touch all the towns of Comelico highlighting their artistic and architectural heritage, rural construction, the rich toponymy and the most significant elements of Ladin culture.
The mapping of the POIs that will be the guide for a journey to discover the Friulian language in Veneto has been completed. As many as 50 points were identified along a route that touches culinary traditions and popular festivals to discover the Friulian culture in Veneto, through 31 points to discover the tangible heritage and other 19 to learn about the rich intangible heritage of the Friulian people.
The result of the mapping process, material collection and choice of points for Slovenian partners in Italy is extremely rich. The work was long given the amount of material available and the desire to make the history and language of the Slovenian minority in Italy known as much as possible. It is believed that up to 300 POIs accompanied by about 150 audios, videos and photos will be achieved, in a constant updating that will continue even after the end of the project. This is an exciting and demanding task that the members of the Slovenian minority group in Italy is leading and will carry on with patience and dedication.
As far as the minority of Italians in Slovenia is concerned, the work of collecting and producing contents is underway. At least 165 POIs are currently being identified. The itineraries touching the various POIs will be accompanied by about 120 videos and 150 audios (in Italian, Slovenian and English), to discover the history and culture of the minority of Italians in Slovenia.
