This year, for the European Week of Regions and Cities, the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia Programme has organized an online workshop on sustainable mobility between Italy and Slovenia, one of the pillar themes of the European Green Deal. The session, "Sustainability beyond national boundaries: cross-border cooperation as a driver for change in biodiversity protection and sustainable mobility patterns", was held on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
The event has tackled the crucial theme of cross-border cooperation through a dual approach: from the implementation of environmental sustainability to the preservation of biodiversity. To do so, several partners were involved. Firstly, the CROSSMOBY and FORTIS projects showcased their contribution for the improvement of cross-border connectivity through sustainable mobility initiatives. Secondly, 5 different cross-border projects – part of a European Regional Partnership – have shared innovative and inclusive approaches aimed at preserving biodiversity for future generations.
Confirming the particular interest in the topics addressed, the event has recorded a strong and active participation, encouraging a dynamic and at the same time detailed exchange of views between participants and speakers.
For those interested, the full video recording of the workshop is available on Vimeo or Swapcard.
The event agenda and the Power Point presentations of the projects are available as attachments.
