C3B: new post-doc researcher recruited to support the activities of the project focused on biobanks

As part of the project "Cross-border platform for an efficient management of biobanks" (C3B), ("INTERREG Italy-Slovenia" program, call 7/2019 - Axis 4, CUP: J95F19000490006), the Lead Partner Fondazione Italiana Fegato has recruited a Post-doc researcher with the task of carrying out the following activities:

  • Launch of a pilot project on biomarkers of chronic liver disease
  • Definition of SOPs for the collection and processing of samples
  • Drafting of documentation to be presented to the ethics committee
  • Drafting of protocols and reports
  • Collection and analysis of data from the various centers involved
  • Production of information material

For this position, Dr. Matteo Nazzareno Barbaglia was selected, graduated in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Eastern Piedmont and PhD in Medical Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Eastern Piedmont under the guidance of Prof. Mario Pirisi (Laboratory of internal medicine, department of translational medicine).

Over the years, Dr. Barbaglia has focused his interests in the field of translational medicine in hepatology. During his studies he took part in several projects concerning the research, through the use of liquid biopsy, of biomarkers involved in liver disease and potentially linked to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Starting from March 2022, at FIF, the dott. Barbaglia, has the role of post-doctoral researcher within the INTERREG Italy-Slovenia project "Cross-border platform for efficient management of biobanks" (C3B).

Research activities include a pilot project on biomarkers of chronic liver diseases, the creation of standardized operating procedures for the collection and processing of biological samples, as well as collection and analysis of the same in collaboration with other research centers, as well as participating in the production of information material.
