In the framework of the project titled "Slovene-Italian Alliance for Cross-Border Work Based Learning” (acronym CB_WBL) approved under the INTERREG V-A ITALY-SLOVENIA 2014-2020 co-operation program, the first meeting of experts from the field of vocational education and learning mobility of students took place on Thursday, 31 May 2018. The meeting was held in a pleasant atmosphere in the premises of the student dormitory in Trieste, where the Cooperative Center for Social Activity, which is the leading partner of the project, has its own headquarters.
The main purpose of the meeting, which was attended by about 30 experts from both sides of the border, was to assemble three working groups and to outline a work plan for creating a comparative analysis focusing on cross-border work based learning and the learning mobility of students in the cross-border area. During the first plenary session of the meeting, experts initially acquainted themselves with the project itself, the achievements made so far as well as the goals and expected outcomes of the comparative analysis. The second part of the meeting was conducted by two working groups. Experts, with the help of coordinators, initially defined the work process and agreed on the key issues and timeline for conducting the comparative analysis.
The first group is responsible for designing concrete solutions, expected learning outcomes using existing European instruments (EQF, ECVET, EQAVET, Europass); on the other hand, the second group is responsible for the creation of unified procedures for the organization of learning mobility, along with the reduction of administrative barriers and the training of mentors. In the near future, a third group will be set which, on the basis of comparative analyses of the first and second groups, will contribute to the development of solutions and tools with an emphasis on the innovation of these. The final outcome of the working groups, made of experts in the field of vocational education and training, will be the design of an online digital platform for interactive exchage between companies and students, as well as teachers and mentors in companies in the cross-border area.
The meeting ended successfully with an outline of specific goals to be achieved and work plans have been set. Experts from the Italian and Slovene side will carry out their work by groups by Autumn 2018. This will require effective coordination, excellent cooperation and overcoming language barriers, which will be ensured by the members of the CB_WBL project partners. You will be able to learn more about the digital platform itself and the launching of it in the near future.
