WASTE DESIGN - We met the participating partners in the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020 program

News

Today (27.7.) was the second coordination meeting of all leading partners participating in the program with their projects. This was held by the organization of the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020 Project Management Authority.  Among the participants were also representatives of the Municipality of Postojna, which, as leading partners, implements the Waste design project.

The goal of the project is to rationalize the collection of municipal solid waste, reduce it using green technologies and reduce the production of unsorted waste by increasing citizens' awareness of circular economy issues. As part of the project, the Municipality of Postojna will establish three ecological islands of underground garbage cans, which have already been implemented in the Municipality of Izola (Javno podjetje komunala Izola is a project partner) and proved to be an example of good practice. Italian partners IUAV University from Venice and Isontina Ambiente from Gorica are also participating in the project.

One of the more highlighted topics at the program meeting was the planning of the event, which is expected to take place on September 21 and will be dedicated to the commemoration of the European Cooperation Day. It will present the concrete results achieved in the 2014-2020 program period and the perspectives of the new Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 program.
