On January 30 th an important educational event of tARTtini Project took place in Trieste. MerMEId Programme (Metadata Editor and Repository for Music Encoding Iniatiative Data) was presented by Axel Geertinger, the Director of Royal Library, Denmark, and the Swedish expert Sigfrid Lundberg at the premises of "Conservatorio Tartini", Trieste.
MerMEId is a new tool open source for the editing and the handling of music metadata, which will be used to make the thematic catalogue of Giuseppe Tartini accesible to the public. The catalogue is being published on the website www.discovertartini.eu.
On the occasion of the meeting, a specialised workshop for the handling of thematic catalogues was organised for music librarians and experts.
Even before the summer, all of Incipit Tartini Catalogue will be accesible to the public, and the MerMEId system will allow the achievement of one of the most important results for preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Tartini, which is the main goal at which the project tARTini aims.
