"Empowering Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAP) in a wide cross border area"


The event is organized within the Interreg Italy Slovenia "SECAP" Project, and is aimed at disseminating the project results and linking up with broad-based European energy and climate actions, such as those of the Covenant of Mayors.
Following the welcome greetings from Massimo Canali, Central Director of Environmental Defense, Energy and Sustainable Development, Nicolò Tudorov (Friuli-Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, RAFVG) and Ivana Kacafura (Nova Gorica Energy Agency, GOLEA) will investigate the importance of SECAP in regional climate strategies.
Denis Maragno (IUAV University of Venice) will present the new approaches developed with the project for the assessment of vulnerability to climate change and its role in adaptation strategies at the level of transboundary territories, while Nicola Holodkov (AREA Science Park) will deepen the methodologies developed as part of the project to promote adaptation to climate change.
It will then be the turn of the municipalities that have benefited from the "SECAP" project in the elaboration of the Action Plans for Energy and Climate: led by Črtomir Kurnik (Energy Agency of Gorenjska, LEAG), Tadej Beočanin, Mayor of Municipality of Ajdovščina and Chiara Puntar, Delegate Councilor for Community Projects of the Municipality of Duino Aurisina will bring their experience gained in these three years of the project.
Davide Cassanmagnago, for the Covenant of Mayors,  will illustrate the new strategies and objectives of the Covenant of Mayors and the new sources of EU climate finance reserved for municipalities.
