The training workshop intitled »Efficient energy planning and implementation of measures in public sector and introduction of innovative technologies for successfull adaptation to climate changes in cooperation with local stakeholders and expert public« took place at Kromberk castle, Slovenia, on 22th of January 2020. More than 60 participants from 26 municipalities from Goriška, Obalno-Kraška, Primorsko-Notranjska, Gorenjska and Osrednjeslovenska statistical regions (public authorities, public administration), research agencies, enterprises, engineers, inštitutov and energy agencies joined the event which was organized by GOLEA agency within the frame of SECAP project (programme Italy Slovenia) and Seadrion project (programme Interreg Adrion).
As a successfull response to climate change starts with a comprehensive municipal energy planning and accessibility to financial sources (refundable and non refundable national and EU incentives) as well as with the introduction of suitable and effective actions, supported by RES and EE technologies we decided to gather both EU projects in order to ensure a comprehensive presentation of the topics defined in the »Guidelines to promote the transition from SEAP to SECAP at municipal/regional level«.
Along with the speakers from GOLEA agency, five speakers – experts from professionally recognised and significant companies/organisations/institutions active in the field of RES, EE, environmental protection and climate change were invited to held the presentations.
The aim of the event was to present the project objectives and activities, to enhance the role of local authorities in the achievement of the EU's energy and climate objectives, to stimulate them to shape suitable local sustainable energy-climate policies and implement activities, that will lead to an increased energy independence and adoption of effective actions in response to the impacts of climate change, also through the elaboration of SECAP document at municipal/regional level. During the event the importance of upgrade from SEAP to SECAP was promoted and challanges were presented as well the benefits deriving from the adoption of SECAP document.
