The REGIOSTAR Awards are back! Since 2008, the REGIOSTARS awards are conferred following a competition that has been organized annually by DG REGIO: the awards have become the sign of excellence of EU-funded projects which demonstrate innovative and inclusive approaches to regional development.
This year the most innovative projects can enroll in one of five categories:
• SMART Europe: increasing the competitiveness of local businesses in a digital world
• GREEN Europe: green and resilient communities in urban and rural contexts
• FAIR Europe: promoting inclusion and non-discrimination
• URBAN Europe: Promote green, sustainable and circular food systems in functional urban areas
• TOPIC OF THE YEAR: strengthening green mobility, green mobility in the regions - European Year of Railways 2021.
The jury will be composed of technicians from each sector, who will evaluate each application to select the winner of each category. One of the innovations of the 2021 edition is the opportunity for the finalist projects to participate in training seminars on communication during the EU Week of Regions in October.
