In the first week of October, KZ Agraria Koper and The Municipality of Koper opened two gardens that function as a learning didactic center, intended for preserving and promotion of the vegetation and cuisine of the northern Adriatic. At the end of October, they opened the third garden as well. In the gardens, you are be able to smell, taste and get to know typical Mediterranean herbs, fruits and vegetables, as well as learn how to plant a genuine Mediterranean garden, grow vegetables or prepare excellent Mediterranean dishes. Learning didactic centers are appropriate for everyone: schoolchildren, gardeners, professional growers and tourist service providers, but mainly they want to attract new visitors into the region.
Mediterranean gardens are the result of the cross-border cooperation of six partners within the INTERREG V-A program Italy-Slovenia. Together, they have tackled the challenge, as there is no caretaker, who would ensure the preservation and integration of the most attractive thing of northern Adriatic into the tourism, which is Mediterranean vegetation and food.
