PRIMIS - Newsletter #5

News

This fifth PRIMIS Newsletter ideally complements the previous one dedicated to the legal framework for the protection of linguistic minorities. After the series that briefly presented the EU,  Italian and Slovenian regulatory frameworks, we also wanted to give attention to the regulatory guarantees present at regional level in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, regions that see the presence of relevant native linguistic minorities.
At the end of the newsletter, to demonstrate the application of such a protection of rights at European level in a specific but sensitive area such as education, a brief note was produced on the political initiatives and national measures to support the teaching of regional or minority languages in schools, starting from a study produced by Euridyce, the European information network on the policies, structure and organisation of European education systems set up in 1980 on the initiative of the European Commission.
