During the first edition of the Energy Awards FVG, the gala of the most efficient municipalities of Friuli Venezia Giulia in the elegant setting of the Parliament Hall of the Castle of Udine, the representatives of the municipalities that received the certificate for their commitment to reducing energy consumption and combating climate change, presented by Councillor Scoccimarro, were called one by one. The selection was based on the compilation of a check list compiled by the municipalities in recent months and then validated by the technicians of APE FVG. A list of municipalities that have distinguished themselves in fields such as the efficiency of public construction, support for sustainable mobility and the adoption of an energy register was then drawn up.

Five classes in which the 20 awarded municipalities fall, have been identified, from E++ to A++, and indicate the level of performance achieved to reduce their consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. As E++ Municipality have been classified: Forgaria del Friuli, Pasiano di Pordenone, Savogna D'Isonzo, Vajont. As D++ Municipalities: Azzano Decimo, Chions, Gemona del Friuli, Sacile. As C++ Municipalities: Doberdò del Lago, Martignacco, Prata di Pordenone, Amaro, Cavazzo Carnico. As B++ Municipalities: Pordenone, Spilimbergo, Tolmezzo, Verzegnis. The best results, namely as A++ Municipalities, have been achieved by Udine, Caneva and Tavagnacco.

The first edition of the Energy Awards FVG is only the starting point for an initiative that wants to be proposed annually with the aim of giving visibility to municipalities already engaged in efficiency practices and to support those who have just begun a process of improvement of their energy performance. The Municipalities++ are models of good practice for the citizens who live there and other municipalities of the region and the initiative that rewards them hopes to be improved year after year with the aim of an improvement of the candidate municipalities and the greater involvement of citizens who have shown increased sensitivity to environmental issues.
