Isonzo-Soča Project - EGTC GO. First time ever an Italian legal entity published a call in Slovenia

News

In the end of November, public call was published on the Slovenian Official Gazette for infrastructural works to be carried out for the recreation area in Vrtojba in the framework of the Isonzo- Soča project. It was the first time ever an Italian legal entity had published a call in Slovenia. It was an historic moment for the cross-border area, and for the European Grouping Territorial Cooperation (EGTC GO), which has competence on the territory of the three Municipalities, and therefore can operate across borders. For the first time the three municipalities face the cooperation challenges together. It is no longer three different Municipalities, but a unique cross-border city, and no more barriers.
"Publishing a call for tenders in Slovenia - for the first time - by an Italian legal entity is a finish line of a programming path which involves two different legal and administrative systems - said Sandra Sodini, Director of EGCT GO. Since I began to work at EGCT GO, I have always heard about "mine" and "yours"... Today this call is "ours". This means that it is no longer Italian or Slovenian, but it's the tangible expression of our unique cross-border city".  Planning phases of the lot related to the recreation area in Vrtojba were commissioned by the Municipality of Šempeter-Vrtojba, which intends to carry out a series of other investements on the area financed by the municipality's budget.
