FORTIS: New study on territorial needs and strategic priorities in the cross border area now available

The aim of the study is to examine public passenger transport and intermodality in the Italy - Slovenia cross-border area and to suggest measures for improving the integration of population movements in the area. The final report consists in an analysis of the area and of the transport flows’ hubs, based on a study of the current connectivity of regional and cross-border public transport in the area between the two countries, that considers intermodal systems and public road transport, railways and the present maritime waterways. Guided by the aim of improving the current situation, the strategic priorities have been outlined for enhancing cross-border connectivity in public transport.
