One of the major results achieved by the FORTIS project is the initiation of the institutional dialogue within the thematic work table “Public cross-border road transport along the entire border area” which, thanks to the opportunity given by Article 25 of Regulation (EC) No 1073/2009 (21.10.2009), has led to the drafting of an agreement between the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Republic of Slovenia whose main objective is to strengthen sustainable mobility between the territories on both sides of the border, through the coordinated planning of the public mobility system and the definition and implementation of public transport services for cross-border people.
