A seminar took place between 10am and 12 of 31 May 2021 on the theme of “Forest fires and interface risk”. The event was organized for the dissemination of the Crossit Safer activities.

Due to the covid19 restrictions the event took place online, on the zoom platform, and was attended by 60 participants (speakers included).

The seminar began with an official greeting from Mr. Bottacin, the representative for the environment of the hydrogeological unit of the civil protection and a prerecorded greeting from eng. Munaro, interregional CEO for Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige Firefighters.

The program featured four presentations from the University of Padova regarding forest fires and fires in the peri-urban area and all the risks related to them. The results of the remote sensing activities supporting the semi-empirical simulation of the forest fire in the testbed together with the modeling and analysis of these kinds of events on the urban/ industrial complexes were shown in practice.

The seminar’s activities ended with the final presentation of the Veneto Region Civil Protection showing to participants the application of the models provided by the University of Padova in practice.
