Crossit Safer: Agreement signing

News

On June 5, the Fire Brigades in the border area of the Republic of Slovenia and the National Fire Brigade of the Republic of Italy signed a historic cooperation agreement. In this way, the mutual exchange of assistance in the event of accidents has also been legally regulated. The agreement also represents the upgrade of the two existing protocols between the professional Fire Brigade, the first between the Koper Fire Brigade and the Trieste Fire Brigade Command and the other between the Nova Gorica Fire Brigade and the Gorizia Fire Brigade Command that have been used for years. Thanks to the new agreement, units will be able to cross the border more quickly and efficiently, which means no additional administration.

The area of the agreement includes a border strip of up to 20 kilometers wide, of which 10 kilometers in Italian territory and 10 kilometers in Slovenian territory, along the entire state border between Italy and Slovenia.

The signing of the agreement represents the final moment of the cross-border project Crossit Safer.
