The CLEAN BERTH project was highlighted at the European Maritime Day 2022, during the presentation of the “PIXEL” project made by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea in Ravenna on May 19th, 2022.

The presentation was held within the Stakeholder Workshop “The role of ports in the context of the European Green Deal: concrete results from EU projects” organised by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

The PIXEL project has been funded by the Horizon 2020 programme, with nearly 5 million of euros, it had a duration of 36 plus 5 months and ended in September 2021. The project’s consortium has been led by the Polytechnic University of Valencia which coordinated 14 partners: mainly university, research and technical partners which helped 4 ports, Monfalcone, Bordeaux, Pireus and Thessaloniki in developing specific pilot action with 2 common factors, the extended use of IOT technology and the will to provide useful tools to monitor and organise port operations while reducing the environmental impact of port activities.

Given the similar scope – port environmental sustainability - the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, LP of the CLEAN BERTH introduced the main project content, resulting in a fruitful exchange of experiences and cross-fertilisation between EU-funded projects.
