DESCRIPTION:

Explore the unique cross-border Karst area – the Karst-Carso Geopark – on an electric bike with experienced local natural sciences and/or cycling guides. Discover extraordinary geological karst phenomena and construction sites dating back thousands of years. Enjoy the cross-border views and authentic Karst delicacies. Keep plenty of water on hand while we take care of the lunches.

After learning about the formation of the Karst at the Karst Vegetation Interpretation Centre, we will travel to Tabor hill, where the remains of a thousand-year-old construction site still stand today. The trail will take us to a geologically significant point as well as the Medvejk hill, which offers spectacular cross-border views. We will be served local delicacies in a family inn with a long tradition. You can continue on to the Italian side, where we will visit the Rebentabor Camp, the geological point of the Aeolians at Col (Repentabor walls), the Prčendol valley, and the extraordinary living stone in the surrounding area. We will continue our path to the Obelisk near Opčine, where there is a beautiful view of the Trieste bay and an interesting geological transition indicating a drastic change in the Setimentation Paleo-environment.

Cyclists starting from the Italian side in the morning will cycle the same route in reverse order, with the groups meeting twice in between.
