On Tuesday, 17.11. we successfully conducted a regional online workshop for the Slovenian program area of DIVA project. The workshop entitled 'digiGarden' was organized by Kersnikova Institute in collaboration with UNG.
Participants have built their self-sufficient ecosystems that take care of the water supply according to the conditions of the soil and as such guarantee optimal conditions for growing. First, the participants were introduced to the world of mechatronics - building the scaffolding for the hydrometer and a water bottle connecting those components in such a way to keep the electronics dry! The second part involved the coding of the microcontroller Arduino with the help of biology and plant-specific knowledge to program the controller to water the plants only when required.
All participants were satisfied with the workshop and gave positive feedback.
