NEX AID Closing Conference

On Wednesday, 20 July 2022, the closing conference of the NEX AID project, Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia Cooperation Programme 2014-2020, took place in Bled. 6 partner institutions from Italy and Slovenia took part in the conference, namely: the ULSS3 Serenissima Hospital (lead partner), the Izola General Hospital, the Jesenice General Hospital, the Municipality of Venice, the University Hospital Giuliano Isontina ASU GI) from Trieste and the Nova Gorica Health Centre. The closing conference was also webcast.

The project, with the full title "Cross-border network of emergency medical systems and mass casualty management", which ran from 1.1.2020 and ended on 31.8.2022, implemented project activities aimed at strengthening cross-border institutional cooperation in order to improve emergency medical response and resource management in large-scale emergencies.

The participants of the final conference were welcomed by the project leader, Dr Biagio Epifani, Head of the Emergency Department of the Hospital in Mirano, part of the Azienda ULSS 3 Serenissima, then by the Director of the General Hospital Jesenice, Mark Toplak, Director of the General Hospital Izola, mag. This was followed by a welcoming speech by Mr Antonio Poggiano, Director General of the University Hospital Giuliano Isontino (ASU GI) in Trieste.

The project has been completed successfully and has achieved all its objectives.
