KICK-OFF MEETING OF CROSSIT SAFER PROJECT PARTNERS

On Wednesday, 20th February 2019, a kick-off meeting of the CROSSIT SAFER project (Cross-Border Cooperation Between Slovenia and Italy for a Safer Region) was held in Udine (ITA), as part of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020. The lead partner of the project, Civil Protection of the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, hosted the project and associate partners from Italy and Slovenia, at the Auditorium Antonio Comelli hall.

The general objective of the CROSSIT SAFER project is to strengthen the capacities of cross-border institutional cooperation in the field of civil protection and to encourage the development of joint solutions for emergencies. A special emphasis is placed on the harmonization of measures in the event of natural disasters in the cross-border area, common cross-border standard operational procedures and beneficiaries included in joint training programmes in the field of civil protection.

At the beginning of the meeting, all project and associate partners first introduced themselves. During the second half of the meeting, the discussion was focused on individual work packages and their successful implementation within indicative timelines. We agreed that the next meeting shall be held at the end of March in Nova Gorica, at the headquarters of the Public Institute for Fire and Rescue Activities - Fire Unit Nova Gorica. (Fire and Rescue Service Nova Gorica). The Municipality of Ajdovščina will organize the second meeting of all project and associate partners in June.
