COLLOREDO DI MONTE ALBANO CASTLE: ON 26TH MAY 2019 THE INAUGURATION OF THE NEWLY RESTORED CHAPEL (MerlinCV)

Events

On Sunday 26th May 2019 the Chapel dedicated to the Immacolate Conception and to Saint Peregrine located in the West wing of the Colloredo di Monte Albano has been inaugurated and consecrated.
The newly restored Chapel has been built in the 18th century by Marquis Rodolfo di Colloredo Mels, which also commissioned the altar tablet, carried out between 1768 and 1770. After the earthquake on 6th May 1976, its legal owner count Alessandro Riccardi di Netro commended the altar tablet to Dr Doimo Frangipane.
Sixteen years later the tablet has been registered as an artwork of historical and artistic value by the soprintendenza (i.e. the Regional service for archaeological, environmental architectural and art heritage) of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
Another piece has been placed in Colloredo di Monte Albano castle, of which complex restoration work will soon be completed.
