31.05.2022 | ANNUAL EVENT OF THE INTERREG V-A ITALY-SLOVENIA PROGRAMME: GREEN PERSPECTIVES FOR INTERREG ITALY-SLOVENIA

Events

After two fully-digital editions, the Annual event of the Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia cooperation Programme returns on Tuesday, May 31st 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at the Ca' Corniani estate in Caorle (Venice, Italy).

"GREEN PERSPECTIVES FOR INTERREG ITALY-SLOVENIA" is the title of this year's edition, which has been selected as a partner event of the EU Green Week, the largest event dedicated to European environmental policy. TerrEvolute also considered the initiative worthy of being included in the programme of the Festival della Bonifica 2022 (Land Reclamation Festival 2022), which this year celebrates the centenary of the first Veneto regional congress on land reclamation.

The event is organized by Veneto Region, the institutional partner of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme, in cooperation with the programme Managing Authority and Joint Secretary. Green is the event’s theme, which represents a transversal element of cross-border cooperation which is able to connect innovation, urban plans with a reduced environmental impact, natural resources preservation and strengthening of hydraulic risk mitigation capabilities.

During the morning, after the introductory greetings of Italian and Slovenian authorities, a video message from the European Commission - DG Regional and Urban Policy - is expected. An update on the 2021-2027 Programme will follow. Direct accounts of the experiences of DURASOFT, MOBITOUR, BEE-DIVERSITY and VISFRIM, projects co-funded by the Programme, will guide participants through a journey of discovery of their best green practices.

A photographic exhibition will be set up both, classically and digitally, to complete the story of the positive effects generated on the territory by the various projects financed by the Programme.

Participants will be actively involved in the part of the event dedicated to the European Year of Youth, the EU initiative that puts the spotlight on the importance of European youth in building a better future.

In the afternoon, a boat will take you to the naturalistic lagoon oasis of Vallevecchia, managed by Veneto Agricoltura, lead partner of the BEE-DIVERSITY project. A study visit (in Italian and Slovenian) will offer participants the opportunity to learn about concrete results of the project and in particular of the innovative methods of sustainable and integrated management of ecosystems in Natura 2000 sites.
