Project event – MEDS GARDEN: Herbal walk through the Purissima Garden,16.9.2019

The herbal walk through the Purissima Mediterranean Garden was organized for tourist workers as part of the INTERREG VA Italia-Slovenia 2014-2020 project (on September 16, 2019). During the walk, they get to know typical Mediterranean herbs, which they later tasted in authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

Mediterranean Garden Purissima is located in Spodnje Škofije, in the hinterland of Slovenian Istria. Where they have always grown early vegetables, vineyard and oilseed production. The settlement was created along the ancient road connecting Trieste and Koper. Purissima Garden is located 9 kilometers from the center of Koper.

In the garden you can experience the Mediterranean diversity, learn about traditional plants and taste the local cuisine. Garden is planted with more than 190 typical Mediterranean plants that you can discover while walking through the garden.

The garden offers a variety of activities for all generations, such as workshops for schoolchildren, cookery workshops, educations, classes for gardeners and growers.
