On the 30th June 2020, the three municipalities of EGTC GO signed the protocol for social inclusion.

In order to deepen and deepen cross-border cooperation in the field of social protection, municipalities have signed a cross-border protocol on cooperation in the inclusion of disadvantaged groups in joint services and programs that control integrated cross-border solutions. This is the first formal attempt at synergistic research between the Slovenian and Italian social security systems. A comparative analysis of the public systems of the three municipalities showed different organizational forms, conditioned by different legal frameworks and different regional and local financial flows. In this context, the extraordinary contribution of NGOs which provides for the cross-border area was recognized. Thanks to their flexible operations, the latter complete public activities, while their operations are effective also and mainly because they are effective on volunteering. The content of the protocol is based on improving access to cross-border services in line with the common goal in favor of vulnerable subjects and other groups in which it is essential to promote the maintenance of quality of life. These objectives have even greater weight, data on the emergency situation in which the municipalities find themselves are detected with the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, during which the reintroduction of the borders hindered an existing rooted cross-border connection. An essential starting point for cross-border cooperation between the allocation of Slovenian and Italian social assistance is the ordering of three Info points in each of the three municipalities, where information is provided on all the social assistance services and programs accessible in the area of the EGTC GO. It is certainly necessary to emphasize that the Slovenian and Italian social assistance agreements pursue a common goal, that of alleviating the problems of vulnerable groups. The cited protocol represents a starting point for sustainable cooperation in the sector mentioned. The Salute-Zdravstvo project is funded by the Interreg Italia-Slovenia 2014-2020 program.
