Like arriving at a destination or conquering a mountain peak pays off, all the efforts that the journey required, so was the satisfaction and excitement among young Slovenian and Italian entrepreneurs at today's CAB EXPO event, held in Venice at the University of CA'Foscari, the CAB partner in charge for the organization of the event, with the support of Friuli Innovazione, lead partner of CAB.
Within the framework of the project Crossborder Acceleration Bridge - Interreg Italy- Slovenia, international start-ups and innovative SMEs have been developing their products and services over the past year, upgrading business models and ways of entering new markets.
Today in Venice, they presented their achievements and innovative business ideas. Their mentors, fellow entrepreneurs and other visitors have evaluated them and selected the best idea - the application for gardening – Tomappo from Bojan and Tilen Blažic, who won the CAB Innovation Award.
The young entrepreneurs, however, convinced not only the visitors of the event in Venice but also the Italian gardeners. With the help of their mentor, the door to business partners, suppliers and end-customers in Italy also opened.
According to Bernard Grum, co-founder and director of the ABC Accelerator, and one of the main partners in the CAB project, this is also the main goal and achievement of the project: the establishment of a cross-border entrepreneurial accelerator bridge that promotes mutual understanding and cooperation.
Although the completion of the project with the CAB EXPO in Venice today is one step closer, its legacy, promoting business development on both sides of the border, will continue long after that.
