WHO WE ARE VEGAL, a development agency operating in the territorial area of 22 Municipalities of Eastern Venice, promotes integrated and intersectoral plans and projects to qualify the local offer in support of the competitiveness of the territory and of businesses, acting in tourism, agriculture, protection environment and in general to improve the quality of life. The institution was founded in 1995 as a "Local Action Group" tool developed by the European Commission in the 1990s to implement development policies in rural areas It is based in Portogruaro and gathers 45 members among public and private bodies, representative of local administrations, trade associations, the public-private sector and the culture and environment sectors. VEGAL carries out secretarial and technical assistance activities at the Conference of Mayors of Eastern Veneto and IPA Eastern Venice, and coordinates the Local Development Plan on the LEADER CLASTER 2014/20 CLLD and the Action Plan on the CLLD FEAMP 2014/20, as leader of the Venetian Local Action Group (FLAG).
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THE PROJECT Vegal and the Municipalities of San Michele al Tagliamento, Cinto Caomaggiore and Teglio Veneto, which are characterised by the presence of the Friulian language, intend to promote the knowledge of the cultural heritage of the native linguistic communities. The intent is to promote the specificities of the territory in order to make history and traditions, especially young people, understood and to enhance cultural and territorial pluralism.
